yes, was primarily for OCD rather than anxiety/depression, so was very "behavioural". Found it a very positive experience, but like another poster, I had to start on ADs to lift my mood for the CBT to work.

I did it for about 3 months this winter, when I was diagnosed with depression. It was life-transforming, everyone around me was astonished how quickly I recovered. I've felt wobbly since but the techniques I learned get me through those wobbly days. I saw a therapist privately, long waiting list on the NHS.

i am having group CBT at the moment(the course is nearly finished)and it has been very hard-going but now i am coming out the other side i can see it has done alot of good.i dont have the horrible thoughts coming into my head all the time, and if i do i can stop it straight away.thats just one example.

mine is on the NHS.

nailpolish · 06/08/2008 12:15

i really dont like the thought of group CBT

yes had it on the NHS 15 years ago and havent suffered since and I had had a nervouse breakdown and was very poorly.

It was the best thing ever for me and I still subconcs practise it now.

Go for it if you can.
