Sugar in urine, but normal blood sugar in 4 year old. Significance??

That is pretty much it. My DS's urine was tested in Germany for infection with test strip as he has a history of urine infections and had a high temperature last week. No sign of infection but +++ glucose. His blood sugar was normal at 92 (continental units, normal range is 80-100).
He is known to have some scarring on kidneys due to aforementioned UTI and reflux. Is this related? Or does this have no significance at all??

Here is hoping. Thanks for advice. I am finding myself unable to wait for Dr's appointment later this week. Needless to say, DS is now fine..

Its probably due to kidney scarring, but some people do just excrete more glucose than others anyway. When I was pg I always had +++ glucose, and I asked a friend who works in urine and blood testing about it. She says their consultants won't do any tests for urine glucose as its pointless

Agree - it is probably not significant. Blood sugar levels are more important.

My 4 year old has just had the same problem. He has been running a fever off and on for a day and a half, with glucose in his urine but normal blood test (79) and normal kidney function test. My doctor says he's looking into what could cause this.
