Pauline chances are it will be fine, try not to worry too much.

Goober oh dear, poor you.

Perhaps should not have asked?

Ripeberry · 17/07/2008 14:02

Goober, sorry you had a nasty experience . I've tried to have some cup-a-soup (tepid) through a straw but its not working.
Just worried about budging the clot.
Everytime i bend down it starts to bleed!
And yes i do feel like a vampire as well, oh well as least i'm getting some protein!
The painkillers have helped a lot and i'm due to take my next dose in an hour.
Just dreading nightime as i'm a bit of a tooth grinder and i might damage the clot.
Hope you heal up quickly, it's going to be weird having a gap.

HereComeTheGirls · 17/07/2008 14:12

maybe you will instinctively not grind them if mouth is sore? Hope you are both better soon-am on bus to dentist now!

ComeOVeneer · 17/07/2008 14:13

Alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hours (so each one taken every 4 hours but stagger them iyswim) and get some arnica tablets to speed up healing/reduce bruising.

Romy7 · 17/07/2008 15:48

and sleep with a towel on your pillow.... seriously.

Ripeberry · 17/07/2008 15:58

Good idea Romy!

Goober · 17/07/2008 19:11

Ripeberry: Straw = very bad idea. You don't want to suck out the clot.
Yes the bloody numbness has worn off now. Not as bad now though. Made fish pie for tea and smooshed mine with some creme freche then ate with a spoon. Rather nice actually.

Glad you enjoyed your supper.
The position of my gap is such that its difficult to eat anything and even drink.
Went to bed last night at 8pm and got up at 7am and now i feel really rough and shivery.
My DH had to take the kids to school as i don't feel well enough to drive.
Waiting for 11am when i can start taking some painkillers again.
Managed to get some very milky tea with honey down me this am, but still got a bit of bleeding.
You just wouldn't think having a tooth out would be so traumatic.
Just hope i feel better tomorrow!

Goober · 18/07/2008 09:40

Hot/ shivery not a good sign, suggests to me infection. You should see your GP, or go back to dentist.
I feel guilty cos I'm not too bad today. I hope you are ok.

Hey, toothless friends, can we regroup over onto my thread? Keep our gaps all in one place?
