Ablation does reduce chandes of getting pregnant but not impossible so still need contraception after it.

I hd spotting and a few more spots than normal and put on a fw pounds (not a lot) until it settled down - took about three months which apparently is about average. My sister who also has one had no problem at all even in the early days.

I really think its worth a try as it the elast invasive (ironiclaly) least medicalised (much lower progesterone doses becuase they are absorbed directly into the uterus) solution.

If it doesn't work you will have only wasted a few months.

hello
I had one in february because I used to bleed like a pig with clots of jam and everything.
I took 4 months to settle down, lots of breakthrough bleeding erratically, and a couple of faux periods. A month ago it all stopped and I got a proper period on1st july - light bleeding for 5 days instead of hammer house of horror in my pants.
So I say yes, do it and good luck to you

wrong sex - thankfully having a sausage sandwich

It was brilliant for me. Why not try it? It takes around 8 to 12 weeks to settle down, I had no bleeding at all after that. You can always have it removed if it doesn't suit. The hormone dose is very low - much, much lower than the pill, and it isn't permanent. Contraceptive wise it is as effective as sterilization, but is reversible.

Give it a go - I had one for a year as an alternative to ablation. Having it fitted was easy, and it stopped the bleeding completely. BUT it gave me horrendous mood swings and I now want a more permanent solution!
