She's not long had blood tests (she was getting headaches etc) which came back ok.Should I be worrying?

My DS used to get really bad mouth ulcers of he was run down in any way, usually after a cold or if he was spoiling for something. They have stopped now, but I do know that they can be a symptom of lots of things; low iron levels and possible coeliac disease being the two that spring to mind (I'm coeliac myself so was very mindful of them), but I'm sure there are others.

We started giving him multivits two years ago and the mouth ulcers cleared up. He hasn't really been bothered since then.

I'd mention it to the doc to make sure they have covered it in the blood tests she recently had and if not can organise some more.

lackadaisycal, the doc suggested multi-vits to me yesterday.i do actually give them all OMEGA 3'S WITH ACDE VITS.so I presumed she was covered.Doc thinks they may not be as concentrated as a proper bottle of mv.s although i've been told they're not as good as we've been led to believe.

i gave DS metatone tonic if he was particularly bad.

did the doc not give you any possible reasons for it happening?

We find even now that if he is having a growth spurt he seems more run down than normal. He is 6 by the way.

hi i suffer with mouth ulcers and they are often a sign of being run down. if she has needed blood tests recently she sounds as if shes recovering from something. the thing i found that helps to keep them at bay is liquorice surprisingly! theres something in it that helps them heal and reduces the amount of ulcers overall.
maybe speak to your gp about it if you are worried, good luck
