Sorry to repeat myself but relly looking for some support as I'm finding it hard with dd been in so much pain now for 5 days.
All started on friday morning then dd work up with a very sore neck. Took her to A&E on Sunday two hours later was told she has sprained a muscle in her neck and the best thing to do is exercise it gently, swimming been the best.
So took her swimming yes it did free it up a bit but was worst by bedtime. Looked a bit better Monday morning so gave her some cuprofen and packed her off to school hoping it would loosen up as the day went on. Was called at 11ish to go and pick her up again lots of pain and the headache had started again (A&E told me this was to do with the tension in her neck).
Took her to a Cranial osteopathy he worked on her said she was so tight that he need to see her again to really free the neck that's on Friday. She did pick up but was in pain just more herself.
School again today (no painkiller in the morning) end up picking her up after lunch. Took her swimming again didn't really swimming just moved about in the learner pool seen to be moving the neck more but still in a lot of pain.

Hardly any movement without pain and holding the head to the left and as it get more sore she tilts it more and more. Tried hot bath, hot water bottle and deep heat, plus arinca. Otherwise calpo and cuprofen for the pain.
Please if anyone can help it really is horrible to see my 7 year old dd in so much pain.

Is there a reason why you have stopped the painkillers when she was at school?

There is a belief that with neck problems that you should keep up the level of anti-inflammatories so that the pain is minimal, and then let normal movement work away the problem.

I would imagine that physiotherapy would be helpful.

I recently had a trapped nerve in my neck and lots of tension. The GP gave me opioid painkillers and a physio referral. It took two weeks of physio to bring the pain to a manageable level.

They don't normally give any medicine at school in less it presribed by a doctor. But maybe need to talk to them.
Thanks for that
