Need to talk about my mum being ill

As normally when something like this bothers me I waffle onto her about it.

She has not been well generally, just a bit off, was told she had wheat, dairy and pork intolerance and is also trying to lose weight (she is not big though) but it wasn't working even though she ate very little.
Tuesday night she was very ill with d+v, and blacked out at least twice (that she can remember), she went to docs the next morning and they asked my sis to take ehr to a+e where she was admitted and put on a drip and nil by mouth as she was having difficulty catching her breath.
They have now discovered a blockage in her bowel and one in her kidney (just one I think) and were doing more tests this afternoon to see what it is.
I live 250 miles away, one of my sisters is there and can visit etc. Pointless me visiting as I cant take DD's in as they are just getting over being ill themselves and there is no-one to leave them with down there while I visit.
Am just terrified there is something seriously wrong, I don't speak to my father and my mum is so important to me.
Just waiting for my sister to call and give me latest after visiting.
PLUS I have to go into the office all day tomorrow and DD1 has been diagnosed with the start of impetigo. ffs.

((chirpygirl)) sounds like a v worrying time, I'm so sorry. Hoping with you that nothing serious comes to light, and that your dd's impetigo responds fast to treatment (dh's did) so that that, at least, is off your plate of worries.

Its horrid being a long way away when someone you love is ill. Wishing your Mum well, xx

Hope all goes well,

Thank you. Have had update, reassuringly (!) they have no clue what is causing the blockages, she has to have another scan tomorrow to see exactly where they are and then might possibly have to have surgery to remove them.
She is now wasted on morphine so a bit more cheerful than when I called earlier when she started crying and asked me to go and get her as she hated it
Currently she is on an outpatients ward so hopefully once they have decided what to do tomorrow she will be moved onto a more permanent and less noisy ward where she can get some rest.

Just spoken to my mum, shockingly she has a burst appendix which has then sort of healed over itself and formed an abcess, which has grown and is what is blocking everything.
They are going to rescan her later to see if they can drain it and if they can will do that and operate in a few weeks, otherwise they will remove it now (whihc is what she wants)
Am really shocked as it burst when she blacked out, and if it hadn't healed over, because it was the evening and she was on her own that might have been it as no-one would have looked for ehr until the next morning.
Scary thought

Urgh, yes, scary thought but soo much better, I'd think, than what you were imagining?

Hope she's all well soon, and that you feel happier
