Can MMR/pre-school booster be postponed?

My ds1 is due to have this v soon but is really scared. He is very resistant to any sort of examination / treatment if he hurts himself, e.g. if he cuts himself he just doesn't want to see it/doesn't want us to look at it or put cream on etc. Also, he won't let us cut his nails or cut his hair so we have to do it when he is asleep. So I can't imagine that he is going to let a nurse stick a needle in him! I think if i try to take him it'll just lead to a big drama which will leave him even more frightened of things like this.
Can these jabs be postponed? I'm hoping he'll grow out of this phase.... or am I kidding myself?

I would postpone it if I were you, no rush imho (& I am generally pro-vax).

My dd3 had a very bad reaction to the first dose,we were advised to wait a few years until her immune system was fully mature, in the end I left it till she was 9 because I was scared [selfish I know],it was much harder when she was older as they know exactly whats going on.
I always bribe mine quick pain=new toy {grin].

you can do it whenever you like

If he is really scared you can get a cream on prescription that is rubbed in a couple of hours before the jab and which numbs the area. My ds had it when they had to take a lot of blood from him. I appreciate this won't deal with the fear factor!

you can do it whenever you want and you actually don't have to do it at all.

Vaccinations are all voluntary.

DD1's were postponed because Child Health dropped the ball.

She's having them on Thursday morning and she's 5.

I'm a bit worried because she is so skinny, she has skinny little legs.

BUT, there was a measles outbreak in the town last year and that really scares me, as DD1 already has learning delays from her dyspraxia and I'm due a baby at the end of October.
