Can't see how you will manage heels. Really. Would it be that bad to wear nice flats and be able to walk without screaming?

I broke my toe/toes last January, I eventually gave in and went to the GP.

They referred me to the local cottage hospital, who xrayed me, and referred me to the large county hospital.

They strapped it, really well and it was as right as rain in a few days.

Do not go to A&E but start with your GP and tell them you have just broken it, for a second time.

hunkermunker · 02/07/2008 11:04

How's your toe, Tutter?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/07/2008 11:09

Strap it to the toe next to it, putting something between the toes to stop them rubbing together.

Don't bother going to A&E or the GP, they will do exactly what you can do at home.

Hope the pain goes soon.

Aw poor you! I broke my toe a couple of years ago, nearly passed out that evening but left it, and only went to A and E next day as I couldn no way walk on it. They plastered foot - and leg up to knee - for 8 weeks, took about 6 months before the last "twinges" went and I have a pretty high pain threshold. I'd go and get it checked out, A & E wont mind. Good luck .

I managed to slam my finger in our (very heavy) front door. Thankfully I didn't break it, but the bruising was spectacular.

Went to the GP and saw the practice nurse and she recommended arnica. (Tablets, not cream). I was very sceptical as I don't really believe there's anything in homeopathy. But I am now a convert. The improvement was astonishing.

Go a good independent chemist and see if they stock them - brand is, I think Nelsons.
