Title says it really. My dd has a rash im sure its like a measles one on her face under eyes a few on her arm but she also has some bigger oval type spots tbh they look a little like chickenpox. Is it normal to have these large spots as well as the smaller blotchy ones?

My DD had swelling after MMR, but not sure about rash?

Is MMR a live vaccination?

I'd call the health visitor.....

my HV told me that if my kids were going to react to their MMR then it would be ten days after.

I am fairly sure that it is quite a common reaction and nothing to worry about.

However, ring your HV just in case.

And if you can't get through, ring the docs.

I was told about the rash 10 days after too, not that DD had a rash. Try NHS direct if you can't get through? and look here www.mmrthefacts.nhs.uk/library/mmrsideeffects.php and here hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html/mmr.html

is she ill at all? If not, I wouldn't worry too much.

Another possiblility is an allergy - has she eaten or been in contact with soemthing new?

belgo · 27/06/2008 15:21

just seen the picture. Could be the start of chicken pox, in which case she'll probably become ill and get more spots.

soremummy · 27/06/2008 15:24

She is unwell wont eat high temp screaming, doc ringing me back soon

yes speaking to a doctor is the best thing in that case.

soremummy · 27/06/2008 15:44

DD2 was just like this on the 9th, 10th and 11th day after having the MMR. It was about the sickest she's ever been (and she's been through a lot in her short life!); I kept having to strip her off and sponge her down, and sit her in a tepid bath, to get her temperature down.

soremummy · 27/06/2008 16:23

sazisi was her rash like the one on my profile? everytime I look at her she had more on her

Hi soreemummy, my DS has been a PITA since 10 days after his MMR - not really ill but just whiny, clingy, slight temperature and now (13 days after MMR) he has a light measley rash all over him. My GP and baby book say this is a normal reaction to MMR. They said to give Calpol if needed. Hope your DD is feeling better.

soremummy · 29/06/2008 19:42

Thanks zebedee1 she has slept on and off most of today and been like velco to me when awake and lol when asleep cos was in my arms all day. She came round a bit this evening and is eating daddys dinner lol chicken and yorkshire puddings so hope shes reached a turning point

eating chicken and yorkshire pudding is a very good sign! I hope you all had a peaceful night and the DD is better today.
