Should my daughter go to A&E for brief vision and hearing loss?

My 18 yr old dd has had a few experiences of momentarily loosing eyesight and hearing. She does not loose consciousness but feels very week after. Of the three times she has gone to A&E, they say she is fine with stats and hears nothing again and G.P runs bloods, nothing wrong. Should she go to A&E tonight to rule out stroke ? No history of stroke, no contraception. Sweats profusely, painful periods.

Ps; I can come out in a cold sweat after a seizure, is that what you’re saying re sweating.

Absolutely yes she needs neurology- bloods likely won’t show anything, she needs specialist input/tests- xx also ask GP to refer as urgent. I would also take her to the opticians/ eye unit as they can also examine the eye to see if they can see if something occular going on. As other have said I would want to rule out epilepsy but also tumours etc with both hearing and vision going.

GP referral to neurology. Could be epilepsy related. Hope she's okay.

Is she very overweight? Otherwise it's very likely to just be a migraine.

Echoing all those who say she needs to see a neurologist.

From someone whose partner's "migraines" required neurosurgery (they were not migraines).

Book her into her GP .
Expect a thorough investigation for things like epilepsy, mini strokes, migraine, tumour.
Ruling out serious causes would be my plan. Does she drink home made alcohol?

Yez, I suffer from bad migraines and occasionally I lose both vision and hearing although hearing loss is much less common.

Just came on to say that the weight question is not unreasonable as there is a medical condition called IIH (idiopathic intracranial hypertension) which is linked to obesity and can cause intermittent sight loss.

Did you get any plan in place or answers op ?
