Still feeling very nauseous and weak after sickness bug, would GP help?

I e had terrible d&v which started on Monday. I took Imodium which sorted the diarrhoea out. Was still vomiting on Tuesday but haven’t vomited since then.

But I feel so nauseous that i can’t eat. I didn’t eat at all on Tuesday. Yesterday had 5 or 6 raspberries, a yoghurt and a slice of toast. I’ve just forced down a slice of toast. Every time I eat I feel really sick. Just drinking fluids makes me feel sick.

I feel really weak and dizzy. I guess I’m improving overall? Would the gp prescribe anything? I’m meant to be going on holiday on Saturday and if I still feel like this on Saturday I don’t think i could manage it.

If you go to the GP they'll be able to examine you to make sure you're not dangerously dehydrated - you can also buy rehydration sachets over the counter which you could try. You can also buy over the counter antisickness medications which the GP may also prescribe. If you're getting better day by day though and keeping down enough fluids etc, it may just be a case of resting and staying hydrated. There won't be anything the GP can do to get you better faster in time for your holiday I wouldn't have thought unfortunately! Hope you feel better soon - there's certainly no harm in having a review with your GP if you're worried.

Thanks, I e got some rehydration sachets and have had one this morning and a couple yesterday. I googled over the counter anti sickness stuff and it just looks like travel sickness type tablets and herbal stuff. I want the good stuff 😁

Highly doubt it. All your doing is spreading your germs to others if you see the GP, lovely.

Yeah i don’t want to spread anything. Though in fairness f2f appts are as hens teeth. If I put a ticket in I think I’d either get a response saying nothing we can do, or a prescription for something or a telephone appointment.
