Verucca help?

This is all totally new to me, never had a wart.

DS2 (nearly 4) has a verucca on his foot. A friend spotted it on Monday night (it was hurting DS2).

I was meaning to go to the pharmacist (busy day yesterday!), but in the interim, DS2 has picked at it, and apparently removed the wart? There's a circle of whitish skin, but the black thing in the middle has gone.

I gather the topical treatments hurt a bit? Presumably they'll be worse on open skin?

I'm inclined to just leave it be and see what happens (making sure he wears shoes in appropriate areas). He bathes with his brother, though - do I need to stop this?

saw something about veruccas a while back. the DR was saying that it's ok to swim even, so the bath must be ok.
I had them my whole life and never passed them on to anyone in my family.

Veruccas usually grow inwards, so I'm afraid he'll need some more topical treatment to ensure it's not coming back.

Have you tried Bazooka Verruca? The yellow tube? Really works wonders.

Other than that your GP could nuke it with liquid nitrogen:

Stop him playing around with it, he doesn't want them to pop up on his hands, etc. too.

Started a thread about this recently. Am trying the tape thing and it really does seem to be helping without using harsh chemicals.

There's a big hole, it looks gross. I think he removed something.

Swimming pools have chlorine and stuff, though? His brother shows no sign of getting them, maybe he's immune, like me.

I've asked him to stop fiddling. [insanely optimistic]

I'll buy some Bazooka Verruca.

Give Bazooka a go NQC, it really does work. Did the trick on one on my hand and on DH's dd. Put a tape around it to be sure he doesn't fiddle with it. [shakes head but remains hopeful]

Last resort is the liquid nitrogen, it does work and is not painful.

When I was a kid they used to cut it out. Sometimes without any anastethic, just ice spray [emoticon to show scared face and chattering teeth]

It looks like he's already picked it out. All the black stuff is gone.

God, I really don't like the idea of warts everywhere, ugh.

Ds1 had one - it was horrible, and did hurt his feet. We tried freezing it, and covering it with tape, and it eventually fell off.
