Hi

I have just joined here and looking for advice. I have a 22 month old son who had an operation to bring down one of his testicles in feb this year. it seemed to work well and I really noticed a difference. however I have recently noticed that it has disappeared. there is only one in there.

my question is - is this normal for one to disappear?

He is my first son so am not fully up on mens bits - even with my hubby around.!!!

thanks for any help or advice.

Im not really sure, probably best to just check with gp.
Bumping anyway and hopefully someone with some experience will come along

Thanks,

I am back at the hospital next week for my son as he was born with other medical problems but wanted to check with other parents - so to not look silly over something that might be normal.

I am concerned also he might need another operation - he has had 4 in his first year of life and trying to save him from more!!!

thanks again

Our ds recently had an episode where he had a sore groin. We took him to GP who said he had a retractile testicle - they are on elastic string type things and can retract back from time to time. ds's are not undescended but can be retractile. If this happens, the GP said you can gently massage the groin to bring the testicle back down again, or a warm bath may help. He also said it happens less as they get older.

I don't know whether your ds has the same thing, but it's worth considering. Our ds is 7 btw.
