Sweating on forehead soaking hair - facial antiperspirant?

Hi. I dread summer - the main reason is I sweat profusely on my forehead when I get hot, soaking the front of my hair. Get a sweaty chin and upper lip, but can dab that! All my blood work is fine so don’t think it’s anything medical.

I'm dreading an event next week where it will be 30 degrees with no air con. Apart from Botox, has anyone used a facial antiperspirant maybe that has worked please? Thanks

tenpints · 23/06/2026 13:08

Head band?

modgepodge · 23/06/2026 13:11

Following with interest!! I was running an after school club yesterday and a 5 year old looked at me and said ‘X, why is your face wet?’ 😳

backformoreofthesame · 23/06/2026 13:15

the sweat is helping keep your brain cool - why would you want to prevent that ?

CMOTDibbler · 23/06/2026 13:16

The carpe one is really good

pizzaHeart · 23/06/2026 13:17

Following with interest as I’ve got this as well. I have thin hair (worse with menopause) and my fringe quickly becomes soaking wet, it’s so awful. Getting rid of the fridge won’t work as it’s the only hairstyle which suits me.

And also getting out the toxins...

Really, it's ok to sweat. Keep a hanky to dab or use a headband as suggested.

Thanks - do you use it on your forehead?

@Gettingonabitnow yes, I first bought it when I was volunteering at an event outside during a heat wave overseas and didn't want all my spf to run off, and to reduce sweat in other places. Even in 40' heat in a big concrete stadium I didn't have a drippy face or soggy under bra

Thank you. Had a look on their website - do you buy the one specifically for the face?

I have hyperhydrosis which means I sweat everywhere even in winter. The only thing I found to work is driclor it’s a roll on I buy it in boots for around £7 I use it everywhere, recommend testing just on your armpits to begin with as some people have reactions to it

I have mine clipped back

I'm the same, it's the first and sometimes only place I sweat. I have some very, very thin headbands that I wear just under the hairline under my fringe. Even though they're thin, they stop the sweat trickling down. They're barely noticeable. And frankly, I'd rather people noticed that than see my dripping wet face!

TheLambtonWorm · 23/06/2026 17:41

I feel your pain. All my sweat comes out my head. It's all well and good saying sweat is meant to cool you down but when you look like you've just stepped out of a swimming pool by simply walking 5 minutes to do the school run you'd understand why it's not ideal.

Odaban spray. It can sting / irritate sensitive skin and needs a while to build up and is obviously full of chemicals but it does work for me when I remember to apply it.

OutOfApricots · 23/06/2026 17:45

I've had some success with a stick deodorant. Rub on hands, then rub hands on forehead and down the nose, then finish off with the back of the neck. Works for me. Avoid eye area and lips though. Stops you getting sweaty palms as well.

What I can't cure is the insides of my glasses steaming up when I get a hot flush!

thenightsky · 23/06/2026 18:14

I had to give up my ballroom dance classes as my face was soaked within minutes and running down my neck. I've tried rubbing roll on Sure, but I sweat so much it barely gets time to dry.

2 years ago I started botox for frown lines and discovered that the side effects are no sweating!!! It didn't impress me re wrinkles, but I've kept going and now have it around my hair line and temples instead. it actually works. I'm thinking of trying it around the back of my neck, inside the hair line next.

CMOTDibbler · 23/06/2026 18:22

@Gettingonabitnow , yes the face one

Gettingonabitnow · 23/06/2026 18:37

Thanks everyone - feels less lonely knowing I’m not the only one!

Oh pal, I don't even need hot weather. A bath or a shower, dry myself and walk downstairs and my hairline, upper lip, chest, stomach, back is pouring with sweat. Can't even dry my hair anymore as within two seconds all round my hairline soaking. It's a fecking waste of time washing nowadays 😂

I'm 39 and this is a newish thing, guess hormonal related.

pizzaHeart · 23/06/2026 20:19

@Whosthetabbynow I do it sometimes but only when I’m on my own as it makes me look absolutely awful. Headband or similar are not possible either.

I know what you mean 😂 I clip my fringe back all the time now so I suppose I’ve got used to it 🤷‍♀️ x
