L5 root nerve block injection - has anyone had it?

If anyone had an L5 root nerve block injection, I would be grateful if you could share experiences, please. Mainly around whether it resolved any issues; for how long (i.e. how long did the relief last), and how painful the procedure was.

If it helps, I am having it (if I am having it) X-ray guided, under local anaesthetic, and my major issues are with lack of foot eversion and toes constantly gripping, toes being very tight, rigid, and involuntary toe movements. So my main issue is not pain. Thank you for any input.

I guess I was too specific... has anyone had any nerve root block injections? Please? I'm worried...

I saw no one had answered and don’t know how helpful this will be, but I’ve had a nerve block in a different part of the body. I just looked it up , and it’s similar to your procedure in that they use lidocaine as well as steroid and it’s injected around the nerve. I was dreading the first one, but apart from the obvious discomfort of a needle being inserted, it was really no big deal. I’ve had many since and now don’t give it a second thought. I think similarly, after your procedure you may feel an increase in your symptoms for 48 hours. I really got myself worked up about it the first time, but it was a bit uncomfortable, basically fine and over quickly. I’ve had much, much worse procedures.
