Has anyone seen this kind of mild ear deformity in a baby?

I posted this in another thread earlier but I’ve since taken better pictures. My baby is 7 weeks old and we’ve noticed a mild (?) ear deformity. I’m going to contact HV tomorrow as I’m a first time worried mum. Has anyone else seen this before? He passed his newborn hearing test!

I don’t know what I’m meant to be seeing 🤷‍♀️

edit: oh sorry, it’s clearer once I clicked the image. Not sure, but I would def get it checked out. Ear deformities can also cause kidney problems.

They can be linked owing to the ‘gestational timetable’ of the foetus but one does not cause the other.

OP, it’s good all hearing checks are going well.

It is worth mentioning though. Would you wish for a renal check?

My DD was born with ear deformities on both ears but up at the top not bottom. Hearing was checked and all fine. We were referred to plastic surgeon paediatrician who checked her over and said it's just cosmetic so no further input needed.

Mentioning kidneys, I do have a family history of poor kidneys in my family. My auntie has had to have 2 kidney transplants in her life and my mum was born with only 1 kidney, he had ongoing jaundice which required a blood test and they all came back normal, I assume they’d have checked his renal function then?

Looks like a grade 1 microtia. This is a condition where the ear doesn't form fully. There are 4 grades. Me and my daughter have grade 3. Look into it and discuss with the gp. It looks fine just smaller!
