Low active B12 and high Transferrin saturation levels - could these be related?

I have previously had issues with my iron levels for a long time.

I had awfully heavy periods for most of my life (well, started at the age of 12). Back and forth to doctors and regular low iron levels. Could never tolerate iron supplements as I also have IBS so I would just get by with iron rich foods. Eventually I had a uterine ablation 4 years ago to stop the bleeding. Pre-op bloods tests discovered that my ferritin levels were 3 so the gynae ordered a one off iron infusion to push my levels up. I have since noticed on my NHS health records that my ferritin had been at 3 for almost 8 years and my GP did little to help.

Post ablation I haven't had a period now for 4 years and my ferritin went up to 40 and as this was classed as normal no further action or other bloods tests ordered by my GP.

However, I have not felt great for the last few years, back and forth to doctors and they keep telling me it's all down to anxiety and prescribe antidepressants which haven't help the absolute exhaustion, sore tongue, tinnitus, headaches, muscle aches, digestive issues and disrupted sleep every day.

I have felt so exhausted and really not right so I took matters into my own hands last week and paid for a well known blood testing company for at home bloods.

The results have returned stating my Active B12 is 54.0 (range 70-150) and Transferring Saturation percentage is 50% (should be 25-45). It says on the report the latter is probably as a result of iron supplementation which I haven't been taking at all and I don't even have a very iron rich diet either. The active B12 results I am confused about too as I was told by my GP last year my B12 was fine.

I have made an appointment to discuss this with my GP in 3 weeks time but in the meantime I want to get as much info as possible on the two to see what could be causing the low and high results.

Does anyone know what could be the cause? Could this all be down to a B12 deficiency?
