All it takes is a swab test to diagnose for Strep A.

DD has had this for over a year I've been fobbed being told that it's thrush, etc etc etc. Her skin has peeled on occasions, it's looked like nappy rash, she sometime has a bit of fresh blood in stools etc. It does look a bit thrush like.

I am distraught that she's been sufferening for the best part of year all because they didn't swab her to check it was thrush or listen to me when I said that canesten etc didn't help etc.

My DD has had horrible problems since she was about 16 weeks old and anything we put on it clears it uop for a day or two and then it comes back. We've tried all sorts, including three different anti-fungals and repeated goes with steroids (which I hate using) to no avail.

I was actually going to take her back and ask for a swab for some sort of bacterial infection so thanks for the heads up.

Have they given you anything to clear it up?

3 week course of penicillan as the one week course didn't work!

Be warned it took 2 weeks to get the results of the last swab, the surgery gets the results back (takes about a week to get to them) then they send me a letter 2nd class telling me to ring to make a phone consultation - argh!!!!!!!
