Help with spot inside nose!

Has anyone had one of these painful spots inside the nose? It’s high up so I can’t see it but assume it’s either a spot or a boil - either way, really painful! It hurts to touch the skin from the outside and it’s a bit swollen.

It also hurts when I’m not touching it - it’s throbbing away.

I’m guessing it’ll disappear on its own in a couple more days but I’m also aware it’s in the danger zone (close to brain).

Any advice or suggestions? I’ve taken paracetamol a few times.

See above post. I never thought I had herpes either until I went to see a doc about my bum

Ooh interesting 😬
I won’t rule that out then , thank you

Try the sterimar salt water nose spray, should dry it up faster.

I was able to get antibiotic cream yesterday so I’m putting it on 4 times a day - last night it was throbbing like crazy and suddenly it was less painful - no exciting outpouring of pus disappointingly, but maybe it deflated a bit?

The pain came back, maybe slightly less agonising today 🤣 but hard swelling on my face still very much there.

This has got to be in the top ten for disproportionate pain to size of ailment category 🤣 Please send me a tiny violin 🙏

Anyone who suffers from this regularly - any precautions that would lessen the risk of a repeat?

I’m not a nose picker 🤣

I had been using an allergy nose spray as advised by GP because of congestion in my Eustachian tubes which was making my hearing foggy, but I’ve stopped that now. Could that have caused it?

It's not dangerously close to your brain it's in your nose. Do you think your brain is falling out when you have a cold?

Just leave it. Or if you can reach inside with a cotton buds put spot cream but otherwise it'll go down naturally.

@BillieWiper yes, I thought that was exactly what was happening when I have a cold. Silly old me! Good thing you were here with your common sense and thread reading skills!

I was just trying to make a joke. Obviously not a very funny one. Sorry. I hope it goes away soon! X

No worries and thank you!
Apparently it’s called nasal vestibulitis 🤣 aka a boil up your nose.

Updating to say that I have been applying the antibiotic cream since last week - still very painful over weekend, couldn’t touch my nose - Monday morning it felt a bit different so I cautiously had a probe with a cotton bud - satisfying blob of pus and a bit of blood - pain almost immediately gone, swelling started to go down, it has been such a relief 😭🙏
I’m continuing with the cream till 10 days are up - I do NOT want a recurrence of this ever!! 😩

Partly putting this down so I can come back to it in future (please no) should I need to remind myself of the time frame.

Next time I’ll get the cream much earlier on! It took about 4/5 days to work but then the boil must have been monstrous. Never again 🤣
