What happens at a chest pain clinic?

Can they diagnose? What tests will they do?
I've had SVT for years but recently had several episodes of a sharpish pain followed by tightness and pain in left arm. Maybe four times in a month.
In between I'm fine.

I had an ECG and maybe an echo (I don't remember) then booked in for an MRI angiogram of coronary arteries later.

I wondered whether it would just be an ECG as I had one at the GPs and it didn't show anything. I wasn't sure whether ECG showed angina or whatever unless symptomatic at the time.

Seems like these are behind like the rest of the NHS because it should be two weeks and it's looking like at least five weeks.

I’m also waiting to be seen at the chest pain clinic op, the ecg at the GP surgery has to be done as part of the referral process apparently as I questioned why I needed one there and then again at the clinic.

Unfortunately after waiting 3 weeks for the ecg it was cancelled as the nurse was off sick, so after another 3 week wait for another appointment I finally have mine next week. My GP just said in the meantime while I’m waiting to try this spray that relaxes the heart muscles, or if it’s bad chest pain to call 999

My GP referred me and arranged blood tests. I rang the hospital to find out how long the wait was and they said they had triaged my referral and rejected it because I have some cardiac history (SVT). So now I am on a normal waiting list for cardiology which could be months.
