I'd only take a tablet after actually detecting threadworms. I've eaten sushi in the UK (and a couple of other countries) on many occasions and never had threadworms as a result.

I think the tablets (in the UK - you may be elsewhere) don't kill the eggs, just the actual worms, so you'd need two tablets, but it wouldn't occur to me to do this.

I may be wrong but I don’t think the worming tablets we have here kill the same type of worms you can get by eating raw fish anyway.

I believe that in order to kill the worms the fish is frozen before serving. I don’t think you need to worry.

In the uk fish served raw needs to either have been frozen at certain temperatures for a specific minimum time, or have come from a fish farm that has rigorous measures to ensure there are no parasites, so you should be fine.

Good grief. I eat raw fish sushi almost every lunchtime and have done for years. I’ve never taken a worming tablet nor either considered one. I’ve certainly never had worms.

You won't get threadworms from raw fish anyway, that's not how they spread.
Raw fish in this country is frozen to kill any parasites.
