Restless legs

Does anyone have any tips for restless legs? I have a GP appointment next week, but I am going insane. As soon as I lie down they start to spasm and feel like they are on fire. I have tried massage, epsom salt baths, magnesium gel and supplements, making them cold, making them hot. I have tried everything. I am exhausted!
Im really hoping someone has a magical cure.

It can be a symptom of low iron so make sure the GP checks your ferritin levels.

I got a lavender scented magnesium spray from Holland & Barrett, it's been a life saver!

I am prescribed quinine which is also found in tonic water but in a smaller quinine.I also take iron as low iron contributes to it

Agree. Had restless legs for years. Drove me crazy. Post iron infusion all gone away!

Taking my iron (ferritin levels) because of hair loss naturally got rid of my restless legs. I take 200mf ferrous fumerate daily but to get it up initially I took 4 tablets a day for a couple of months

I’ve had restless leg syndrome since I was last pregnant-36 years ago!
I take Vitamin B12 and Magnesium tablets and I have Pramipexole on prescription.
I’ve also found Magnesium cream helpful in the past
You have my heartfelt sympathy, it is a miserable condition ☹️

I know it’s no longer a popular medication for treating restless legs due to a tendency to need increasing doses but I have been taking Ropinirole for the condition for over 10 years now and it still works very well for me.
Initially I had to increase the dosage from about half a mg to 2.5 mg a day fairly quickly but it rapidly stabilized at that level and has not increased since. I take three separate doses of 0.5 mg during the late afternoon and evening then one mg at bedtime. Still working very well. (Fingers crossed!)

I suffered from RLS but it went when I started HRT. My worst episodes were always on holiday when it was high temperatures, so I came to the conclusion it was some combination of dehydration, heat disrupting hormone levels and perhaps lower levels of some key minerals due to increased sweating.

I haven't had it for years and then this last week, in the UK heatwave, I had it badly again! Magnesium, B12 and other vitamins, sports drinks and temporarily upping my HRT has knocked it on the head it seems!
