Does Elavate Collagen work for joints?

I am very tempted but the whole campaign and upselling and constant 'offers' makes me feel it could be just good marketing.

I have arthritic knees , I had a steroid injection which has not helped.

I did listen to the BBC 4 programme about it and understand that the collagen need sot hydrolysed into peptides (?) to be small enough for the body to absorb. The programme was pretty clear that it might work - hasn't been proven to work, but hasn't really been proven not to either.

How could it actually replace tissue between my knee joint bones?

Does anyone successfully take it for arthritic joints?

I’m getting really sick of the constant advertising!

I can’t say re: arthritic joints but I started taking Elevate about a month ago and I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but a serious knee ligament injury I was dealing with has had a surge of recovery in the last few weeks. So I like to think it’s helped. But who knows! I read you need to give it 2-3 months to see benefits.

I agree re: their promotions and offers - it’s very, very off-putting. But I wanted to try the product and so far I’m glad I did.

I have joint pain so have been going down the collagen route too. I especially struggle going up and down the stairs.

Nutrition Geeks worked a bit for me so decided to try Ancient & Brave as that has even better reviews, including on here. Pain came back with a vengence so I invested in another pouch of Nutrition Geeks, pain is now slowly subsiding after a fortnight just like last time.

I think collagen is one of those supplements where you have to keep trying different brands until you get the one that's right for you. Some people say you need to try it for at least 3 months, but others say they don't feel a difference at all until they stop taking it and then they realise it actually was helping!

Elevate was going to be my next possible purchase if NG hadn't helped this time.

So anecdotally it seems as if most people who take it feel it has benefit.

I am still feeling reluctant to drop £80 to try it out when the current wave of adverts tells us such nonsense as the average 40 yo woman has ‘20ib of poop’ stuck in her gut.

Also, how is drinking it in a mug of coffee? Is it ok?

I use Elevate. It comes in a few flavours, I have the plain one and either have it in soup or instant vanilla latte type of thing. Or in a smoothie. It takes a while to dissolve in cold drinks but it's pretty quick in hot ones.

I am sure it works for me, and I don't think it's placebo effect because I was very skeptical.

I have arthritic knees and have taken Elavate collagen for quite a while now. My knees do seem better, but that could also be because I'm doing more strength training now and my thighs are stronger, which also helps!
i get it delivered monthly, and they let you skip a month or delay it which I think is really good. I have the chocolate flavour and you only need two teaspoons of that so I get a build up of packs sometimes!
I once had to cancel my subscription and it wasn't as easy as they make out, but I'm back in it again now.
they are sneaky though. They send you a "free" tub of vitamins every so now and then and then kind of sneak them in every month while putting the monthly price up! But the chewy vitamins are delicious, so I don't mind 😄

I take A&B - definitely makes my nails strong.

For joints you need Type II collagen. There are loads of supplements around that are cheaper than Elevate. I took Bare Biology and hair grew thicker but joints the same. Type II supplements (just a cheap one on Amazon) had grest results.

£80?? NG is £17 a pouch and I buy it one at a time, Ancient/Brave was £32 a jar.

Both NG and Ancient/Brave just made the (instant granules) coffee taste creamier to me, but i haven't tried it in tea as I don't like creamy/milky tea anyway.
