A question for those who LIKE their mirena coil

I have one, it's been fab and it is due for removal later this year. So my question is how many of you have gone on to have another one, or if not, could I ask why?

My own circumstances are different now to when I chose to go with a mirena, in that I am now separated from DH, tho I'm not sure if that makes it more important or less!!

I am considering going 'au naturel' for a while, but am nervous about that because after ds was born my periods were so heavy and I also found using tampons had become very difficult. However - am tempted by the mooncup option now.

So while I sort of feel that the need for a coil is less pressing, I have got on well with the mirena, and being without the trauma that periods had become has been bliss, so I am finding it hard to decide which way to go.

I assume that if I decide to go without, and change my mind after a few months that it is ok to go back and get one fitted again?

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences to share about this? Things I may not have considered maybe?

I'm on my third now, had never even thought about not going for the replacement both times. Couldnt bear the thought of going back to periods again, and havent ever experienced any downside.

Reading this back, I'm not sure it helps, but good luck deciding.

didn't have a replacement as dh had the snip and my periods are normally v light and non problematic.
looking back I should have kept going and saved myself some money on tampons

Oh - forgot to mention that one of the reasons why I sort of felt I shouldn't get another just now is that dd will probably be starting her periods in the next couple of years, and is already concerned about getting pubic hair (I don't WANT to be hairy!), so I sort of thought she should have some sort of example set about dealing with periods (rather than avoiding them....).

I guess I want another but kind of feel I shouldn't.

Geez - how hard can it be to decide? Have had far tougher dilemmas to deal with recently!

Unless DD is going to want to watch you in the bathroom dealing with your periods, I'm sure you experienced them for long enough to be able to give first hand advice without actually having to go through it again yourself.
If you had a early menopause or hysterectomy, do you think you would be any less able to support her?
