Best moisturising creams to soothe antibiotic-related dermatitis or eczema?

Hi all

I'm seriously suffering from some kind of dermatitis/eczema as a reaction to antibiotics (now finished) and am sooo sensitive as I've scratched and it's sore. I'm taking anti histamines for the itch and painkillers when it gets unbearable.

If you're a dermatitis/eczema sufferer what creams do you recommend to moisturise and soothe. There's so many options out there and some of the prices are nuts. I'm getting a hydrocortisone script from the GP so it's to supplement that.

F

edit - bloody hell fat thumbs sent the post before I’d even written it 😂

Ive found Aveeno sensitive baby moisturiser really useful. No scent, absorbs pretty well but does leave a slight barrier.

If your skin is really bad or it’s widespread then when you speak to your Doc to get the steroid prescription ask them about (what I call) the “proper” moisturisers - things like Diprobase, Epaderm etc.

Zero cream is really good- you can get a big bottle off amazon for about a fiver. It’s hypoallergenic and the only thing that soothes my girls’ eczema

Aveeno moisturizing cream for dry and sensitive skin.

Cetraben is the only thing that works for me, but it's oily with a paraffin base so may not be what you're looking for.

Aveeno moisturizing cream for dry and sensitive skin.

I've got the one with the dark blue cap (skin relief) which I like, but the one with the light blue cap which is supposed to be good for eczema (Dermexa) makes me itch more 😕

I've got a tester of the cream which is quite good - if oily - so I may go for that. There are do many of these on the market that it's hard to tell which one is best.

Neither of them . It’s green cap and it’s called exactly this - moisturising cream for dry and sensitive skin. DD has eczema and it’s the only cream she tolerates. We used a few others in the past and she didn’t like them.
I also use Nivea from blue pot for dry/ sore patches e.g on the face.
I would also go back to GP and try to eliminate other things I’ve got a feeling that it might be a symptom of low iron.
Also I would double check all products. My DD was itchy all over recently after using new bath sponge and new lovely smelling Method shampoo. 😢

I've got some of that (I've tried them all for dry skin). I'll get some of the plain Nivea too.

Thankyou 🙂
