Ok so I was diagnosed over 40 years ago with chronic vestibular neuritis which has been under control for 20+ years.

I have been having balance issues since start of February. Coupled with sinus issues since September. Sinus scan clear.

Seen audiologist and he has said square wave jerks on tests but no real vestibular issues shown up. Been referred to neurologist. All privately so far.

With the balance issues, not spinning just things moving, head fuzzy, feel like walking on clouds, generally very unsteady, motion sickness. Dizziness can be fine one minute and then hit so badly.

I’ve had it every day since February with some days worse than others. Underlying headaches. It’s marginally better than February, but not by much.

possibly vestibular migraines but audiologist not convinced.

reason for neurological referral is square wave jerks, had a seizure/TIA last year, have Antiphospholipid and essential tremor and since 2018 smelling and tasting cigarettes which has got a bit worse. Slurring when I’m tired or after concentrating and when dizzy.

Was referred to nhs ent in December but still waiting for that appointment.

Going up and down stairs makes me worse.

Obviously no longer allowed to drive.,

My question would you go back to gp for nhs to chase up or wait it out for private referral which is June.

Or does anyone know what this may be.

Thank you if you have read this much!

That sounds horrible. Are you on any kind of medication like betahistine or similar? I don't know if it would be suitable for your set of symptoms, but it's a godsend for the vertigo and nausea associated with my suspected Meniere's. I'd go back to the GP AND wait for your private referral in June.

Yes I am. Though now been told to come off them. I’m stressing a bit as meant to be on a cruise next month and flying there… can’t see it at the moment

thank you for replying.
