How do prevent sweat rash?

I am really suffering with sweat rash in the groin area. I am disabled and overweight so don't move around much. I sit down, under a blanket if cold and watch tv most days. I do shower daily, a quick 5 min in the morning and a longer with hair wash and personal grooming a couple of times a week, I have been putting hydrocortisone cream on it which has helped but I cannot use that forever (advice suggest no more than 7 consecutive days). Would rather not have to deal with it.

Best thing for it is to keep the area dry - so cotton liners, talc / comfort powder or a zinc oxide barrier cream.

This happened to my late DM when she had reduced mobility in old age. You really need to speak to your GP because over the counter medications may make it worse (we tried lots for DM). The GP in the end prescribed a special wash and cream which really helped. We also used disposable cotton cloths and towels as they were gentle (from Amazon). I hope you get sorted soon it must be very uncomfortable for you.

Dry with a cold hairdryer after showering then put something dry and absorbent next to your skin, changing as needed. I've used clean dry flannels in the past when I've had this issue.

Also check that it's not a fungal infection (jock itch)? I had this recently when I had an injury that stopped me moving much. I used Kopa Haiku herbal treatment cream which worked when all the strong antifungal creams from the chemist did nothing or made things worse. (The above brand also do an 'advanced herbal' version of their cream, but that one did nothing to help me.)

I was really overweight after having my second baby. I bought cycling shorts from Primark and wore them under clothes. They absorbed sweat and stopped my thighs rubbing together painfully. Once I lost weight it didn’t happen anymore. Hope you find a solution as I know it’s painful
