Private Meningitis B vaccine - anyone know about spacing

My 18 year old DS had the Meningitis B vaccine privately this morning. The pharmacist said he should go for the second dose in 8 weeks time.

I know the guidance is that the second dose should be done after 4 weeks as a minimum, but does it matter if the second dose is done at, say, 12 weeks rather than 8?

Online seems to suggest that this is fine - but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm? Thanks!

The time frames are usually the minimum rather than the maximum.
My daughter had her MenB ones at 9, 17 weeks old and then at 17 months. The schedule at the time was 8 and 16 weeks and 12 months. My daughter had to have the final dose in paediatrics as she had a reaction to it at 17 weeks which was why it was so delayed
My son has had his menB so far at 8 and 12 weeks as they have since changed the schedule.

Thanks so much...and I hope your daughter's reaction wasn't too alarming. My own daughter once had a terrifying reaction to an antibiotic! All was fine in the end - but it involved a stay in hospital.

Re Meningitis B spacing in case anyone else is wondering - I just had it confirmed that it's actually fine up to six months after the first dose (for teens/young adults anyway).

She was ok after the initial shock she had a strong immune response to it which meant she screamed inconsolably for 3 days to the point that we couldn't even dress her so ended up in paeds with her just in a nappy and blanket in mid December with snow in the air.

She did the same at 17 months but not quite as bad as she only had the menB vaccine that day and her reflux and allergies were better managed than they were at 4 months which were also making her feel pretty crappy.

I'm glad you have had the confirmation that you have some clarity on the spacing
