Anyone juggling iron, zinc, copper and selenium supplement timings?

After some recent blood tests for something (nothing to do with deficits) I noticed that my copper, zinc and selenium levels were a bit low.

Im on a high multivitamin anyway but suspect that my high iron supplementation is possibly interfering with absorption so thought I would get zinc, selenium and copper all together, now I read that you're not meant to take them together because the zinc interferes with the copper!!!

I already have to space out iron, PPIs, calcium, the multivitamin, such a nightmare!

Op talk to your gp. My mum was on all sorts of supplements (I’m talking our home was like a pharmacy) and ended up with a form of liver damage from it.

I’d find that confusing and also would be worried about taking too many without guidance.

If you can eat nuts, there is selenium in brazil nuts.

Edited

Ive tried to speak to the GP in the past about supplements, he simply wont discuss it as its not prescribed by them

I have specific requirements for supplementation following private surgery but noticed on recent tests that by B12 had lowered (although not low, but concerning it had dropped significantly seeing as Im on very high supplements) and the z, c and s was just under the range but marked as 'normal no action' (predictable)

So they wont give NHS supplements, which wouldnt suit me anyway as it has to fit with my other supplements.

It is confusing and even more when the multivitamin has them all together in it as well, so if you're not supposed to take them together because it knocks out the copper, why are they all together in the supplement (and the one Ive just bought now)

I might contact the company where I get my multivit from, they've been helpful before.

No it doesn’t work like that, zinc doesn’t negate copper unless really high doses ; you need both in balance in normal ranges

i wouldn’t worry about the rest apart from iron vs calcium as there you really have an interaction there; ideally iron with vitamin c in the morning (empty stomach unless it upsets you) , calcium lunch time, magnesium evening (last two interact)

with supplements have some dandelion tea and beetroot to give your liver some pampering.

Yes Im ok with the iron and calcium, Im on 4 doses of calcium a day so its staggered and kept well away from the iron, which is also kept well away from the PPIs. And keeping away from caffeine too as that is also a clash

My multivit also has very high copper and zinc in line with my needs and for the past few years my levels have been as they should, bit strange its dropped on this test though. I will get some more tests in about 3 months and see if this is ok.
