Can anyone help..I’m in quite a lot of pain and uncomfortableness with haemorrhoids. I seem to get them on and off every couple of months. I really don’t want to go to the drs. I’ve tried a few creams. Is there anything else that helps

Can I ask do you get tummy pain?

My go to always use to be over the counter Anusol but recently I seem to struggle with the lingering smell of this cream and think I need something stronger.

Tackling the cause is usually best if they're recurring. Are you doing everything right?
Squatty potty
Never ever even slightly constipated
Never sitting on toilet more than ten minutes
Not sitting down all day
Exercising
Maintaining a healthy weight
?

If yes to all the above, have you considered a hormonal cause? Just because you said you get them every couple of months I wonder if they are linked to your cycle. Hormone changes are a cause. If so, you could try types of hormonal contraception which "even out" your hormones?

No tummy pain just uncomfortable from the actual haemorrhoids. I’m using absol at the moment but it doesn’t seem to be mailing much difference

I know it’s embarrassing OP but the doctor will have seen god knows how many bums!! they can give you suppositories and creams that are so much better than OTC stuff.

I recommend taking something like movicol daily and never straining, will really help you to go without irritating everything

Honestly, doctors see this all the time. They can prescribe scheriproct which is miles better than over the counter stuff. I was persuaded by people on here to go to the GP when I was suffering and it was so worth it!

Thank you for answering. The pain into and from the anus seems to have stopped for me. Never had abdominal pain before.

I’ve just got some germaloid cream I’ll give that a try and if not it’s going to have to be the drs. Thanks for all replies

Whenever mine flares up (usually due to eating spicy / too much food) I use a suppository plus cream (internal and external), which seems to calm it down. And paracetamol . I’ve had them for 18 yrs since DS1 was born so I don’t expect them to ever go completely, but as long as they aren’t painful I can live with that.
