Hand and arm really hairy a month after plaster cast removed -a trivial issue really but I wondered if it's normal?

I broke my wrist earlier this year and was in a cast for 6 weeks. It finally came off a few weeks ago and I have now noticed my arm and hand (where the cast was) are ridiculously hairy

A totally trivial issue and I am more amused than anything but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Yes it is normal and it will gradually go back to normal. It's really weird 😂

After I posted it dawned on my I could Google Blush and I realised it is a thing!

Just so bizzare when I suddenly noticed the whole back of my hand was hairy Grin

This happened to my dd when she broke her arm! Apparently it’s something to do with your body sending extra nutrients to heal the break, makes everything grow, or something like that 🤣

I had this when I broke my wrist as a teenager. When the cast came off my arm was all pale and withered and hairy - I was horrified and shaved my arm, which probably wasn’t a great idea. Confused

Oh yes, as a radiographer I've seen some incredible yeti leg scenarios on my newly freed patients. Some people have a truly luxurious pelt after removal.

No way? That’s interesting, as the saying goes “you learn something new everyday” x

I had this on my arm and bought Jolen Cream Bleach to hide the dark hairs.

This happened to me when I broke my arm! I've never thought to find out if it's normal. I was only 19 and so embarrassed when people said "oh, your casts off!" and looked at my weird yeti arm. Nice to know, after nearly 25 years, that I wasn't such a freak after all 😂
