You can get both psoriasis and seborrhoeic dermatitis simultaneously so it could well
be both.

Try descaling your scalp - either using some kind of hair oil overnight and washing out, or using something like Inkey List salicylic acid scalp treatment. Then try something like Vichy Dercos shampoo (selenium sulfide) which should help control the flakes. Nizoral doesn’t help me personally.

If they continue you may need a steroid scalp lotion from your GP.

Moogoo shampoo. Honestly, saved my scalp. You need gentle and this delivers. Have recommended it to loads of people. They have their own website. Amazing stuff.

I’m prescribed Capasal shampoo (coal tar & salicylic acid) and it’s the best thing I’ve ever used for Seb derm & psoriasis as I have both. You can buy Capasal from most pharmacies or on Amazon.

Try Neutrogena Sensitive Scalp. It doesn’t smell strongly avd can be used every day. That should calm everything down.

It can be a bit hard to get hold of but Amazon usually have it and Savers sometimes do.

My scalp was rank for about 6/7 months, possibly longer. Nizoral did nothing.

Eventually, I tried Head and Shoukders in the green bottles for very dry itchy scalp. Shampoo, conditioner and a thicker lotion in a smaller bottle. It pretty much dealt with it. Then I gave up refined carbs, sugar and wheat. All my little patches of eczema cleared up, and my aches and pains.

I hope you feel better soon.

I had this recently. My gp prescribed a clear lotion (I’m not at home so I can’t check the bottle) which is not over the counter it’s prescription only and it’s worked a miracle. I’m only annoyed I didn’t go to him sooner as I had spent a bloody fortune on lotions and potions. Within a week it had cleared

@SparkyBlue@Claireh33xx what sparkyblue could be describing is something called betacap

i randomly started with something very similar in my scalp in November and it’s been awful, the itching the flakes the scabs I had, the second time of me using this clear liquid lotion seemed to work,
but after that I also used nizarol scalp soothing leave in treatment but that was awful on my hair,
ive now started to slowly improve and I’ve been using a e45 shampoo

Moo Goo scalp cream is fantastic. I rub it in over night and it washes out easily. It soothes everything .
