Dithering... not sure if I'm imagining it

A couple of days ago I found a very small lump in my breast, right against the chest wall. Bigger than a pea, small than a kidney bean. Very hard, non mobile. Dimpling on skin but that has been there a while.

I could palpate it but DH couldn't feel it.

I'm going to feel such a numpty if my GP can't either and I really don't want to go.

I have bi-polar and it is very difficult to get taken seriously with any physical health problems as a result (saw GP for palpitations and was told it was anxiety. 3 days later collapsed in cardiogenic shock due to an arrhythmia).

I just feel like I can't risk being wrong as I'll pay for it later with being told it is all in my head.

Please go. If it isn't "all in your head", going as early as possible is the best thing you can do.

Who will tell you its all in your head? People who love you will be glad you went to get checked out?
I don't know you and would be pleased you got checked out!

Please don't worry about what anyone might say or think. It doesn't matter a jot. What matters is your health. This may be nothing, or it may be something to take care of - the sooner you know the better it will be for you. Really.

Definitely go and don’t worry. I went to the breast clinic once even though my GP couldn’t feel what I felt. You know your breasts.

Please do go. I had breast cancer 25 years ago. About 10 years ago I could feel something in my arm pit. Went to GP who agreed with me it felt more on my skin than in my flesh. She still referred me to breast clinc.

An hour before I was due to set off, the "thing" had completely gone. I figured it was way too late for my appointment to be given to someone else, so I went along. I apologised to the consultant for wasting her time and she was adamant that I wasnt.

as it happened I had a mammogram on both breasts anyway and they found a tiny tumour in the opposite breast. It was so small the operation was done and I left hospital the same day, feeling no worse for it. Lucky me.

You have to go. It’s a pain, I know, I’ve had four breast lumps but you have to get checked out.
