Mass in lower abdomen, now chest CT ordered

My GP referred me for abdomen and pelvis CT scan and to see a colorectal consultant after finding a large mass in my lower abdomen.
My bloods are all fine (including CA125) , except iron deficiency anemia. I'm in my early 40s, pre-menopause.
I saw the consultant last week, a couple of days after the CT scan. The CT report wasn't available yet, but I had a negative FIT test and the consultant was confident the issue is not colon related. He was able to see the CT pictures and thinks it's uterine, but as he is no expert in this couldn't tell me more. He referred urgently to gynecology. A day later he called and told me the gyn consultant wants me to have an abdomen/pelvis MRI and also a chest CT and will see me once that's done. I should get appointments for the next week or so.
I was hoping it's a fibroid or something similar. Anyone got similar experience?

I was told I had a large mass on my left side after an ultrasound scan of my pelvis. My CA125 came back as normal. I was sent for an MRI, which showed the mass was on my left ovary. They weren’t sure what it was, they thought it could be a fibroma. I had a complete hysterectomy, including mass, ovaries and omentum. The tumour turned out to be a cancer called Granulosa cell tumour. This was 12 years ago and I’m fine.

The waiting for tests and results is the worst time. I saw my GP, who was lovely. She prescribed something to help me sleep so I could have a break from the worry.

You will get through it all. We find a strength we didn’t know we had.

Thank you! I am glad to hear you are well now. I am only now getting nervous as the consultant ordered a chest ct and the only reason for that I can think of is to look if something has spread. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long.

6 years ago when I was 53 (and post menopause) I had a MRI scan for back pain and they found a large mass in my stomach.
5 weeks later I had a complete hysterectomy, including removal of my uterus, cervix, both fallopian tubes and both my ovaries, one of which had a tumour attached to it that weighed 50lb………
Incredibly the tumour turned out to be completely benign so no further treatment was required!
I agree that the worst time is the waiting for the results and for the team to meet and decide what is going to happen.
Hope you find out soon what their plans are
