tell me about it! im 5 foot tall and approx 11.5 stones.... my ideal weight is apparently 8 stones - if i got down to that i would be anorexic! the lowest i can remember being was 9 stones, size 10 and looking so drawn and ill i had to start putting on weight!

Lots when I'm on the "right" side of them

But, we did this at work the other day and the only bloke that came out as a "fatty" is one of the fittest there. Muscle weighs more than fat.

They're too rigid. Get to a weight you feel comfortable with I think.

The BMI measure is biased to let short people tend to be plump & tall people have to become very (too) skinny. My dad is 6'4" and he always rails on about this.

There's an alternative method of calculating ideal weights by looking at body fat percentages, rather than just BMI. I quite like that as I get much higher (i.e. for me more realistic) figure doing that than I do using BMI.

Calculating it that way I would need to get down to about 18% body fat (and that's assuming no increase in muscle, so possibly less than that) to even get to the top end of the supposedly healthy BMI range. The healthy range of body fat for my age is 23-33%, so I will probably end up at some point being technically overweight, but underfat - if that makes sense?
