Covid vaccines

I keep seeing general stuff in Twitter and on news about Covid vaccines causing early deaths from turbo cancers and how they cause you to have a much higher chance of various cancers… I already suffer from extreme anxiety around cancer stemming from my parent being diagnosed when I was a child.. I had 3 covid vaccines. Is this true??? I can’t even tell any more if the sources are reputable but some of them seem
to be? How can we know?

Any source of information that is trying to tell you that there is any such thing as "turbo cancer" is so massively full of crap that it's a wonder they manage to operate a doorknob.

What news sources did you see these stories on?

nomoreleft · 12/02/2026 14:58

It’s these stupid articles that ‘pop up’ on my social media/ adverts whilst browsing. Even if I don’t click on them I still see the gist of it.. that and loads of stuff about random peoples old house restorations 😳

Install an ad blocker.

And do something about your social media algorithm- it's showing you these things because somehow you have suggested you are interested.

It's rubbish ignore.

So not so much proper news sources but more like clickbait, yes?

Here are the kind of news sources I'd use for medical info:

British Medical Journal - "Numerous virologists and cancer experts told The BMJ there is no evidence to support claims that mRNA vaccines are linked to cancer." https://www.bmj.com/content/390/bmj.r1934

Mayo Clinic - "COVID-19 vaccines are not linked to a rise in cancer or more aggressive cancer." https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/coronavirus-myths/art-20485720

National Cancer Institute - "There is no evidence that COVID-19 vaccines cause cancer, lead to recurrence, or lead to disease progression." - https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/coronavirus/covid-19-vaccines-people-with-cancer

Thanks for all of these. I’m usually quite capable of making a measured assessment of what is and isn’t reliable but somehow have found these seeping into my consciousness or at the least the periphery?I’ve even found myself thinking some seem quite credible mainly through the strength of their conviction or that they (say they) are a doctor… Perhaps because I’m having quite a stressful time at the moment.. an ad blocker seems
a wise idea, I’ll look into that.

In fact, the data is showing the opposite, so you can quite safely ignore it.

And I'd actually advocate for stepping away from TwiXter altogther. If that's where your algorithm is going, it's only going to get more insistent. Plus, it's a cesspool of disinformation with AI that creates child porn, but that's another topic.

A large-scale French study published in
JAMA Network Open found no increased risk of all-cause mortality among adults who received the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine over a four-year follow-up period. Instead, vaccinated individuals had a 25% lower risk of death from any cause compared to unvaccinated individuals.

And there's this

https://www.bmj.com/content/391/bmj.r2245

People vaccinated against COVID-19 have lower risk of death – regardless of the cause, study

COVID-19 shot tied to lower risk of death from any cause, study shows

Adults who received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine have a lower risk of death regardless of the cause, a new study has found.
