Help needed, DP just diagnosed with Celiac Disease

DP's consultant just called to confirm diagnosis of celiac disease. He recommends an immediate change of diet, but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone help?

We have DS (17months), do we all switch to gluten-free or is it possible to have both in the house?

Any help appreciated

I know what you mean, we both have a free day tuesday (with no DS) and I thought we could go for lunch but haven't suggested it as don't know where we could go and both eat!

La Tascas are good, and the gf dishes are marked on the menu. Nandos have a gf menu as well, as do Outback.

Where do you live ? I can search around for something in your area if you like

I'm near Glasgow. Don't think Nandos is in Scotland? But we have a La Tasca so maybe all is not lost!

Some curry powders may not be gf - the ones which are gf are listed in the CUK Directory.

Just been reading your threads, very interesting! My dh has been diabetic since he was 16, has 4 needles of insulin a day. BUT hes just found out y hes been feeling so bad the last few years, he also has coeliac disease!
He had a routine blood test for his diabetes and he was severely aneamic and low in folic acid. The Dr mentioned cancer which was an awful shock and way down the list but after an endoscopy he was diagnosed coeliac.
The gluten free bread from morrisons was like it was toasted when it was fresh it was so dry! But Im sure theres a nice one out there! He has to make sure he has enough carbs for the insulin he has aswell. Any tips?will def join the coeliac site for the 'bible' !

Goodness! I have a coeliac husband and ds2 is now t1 diabetic. Coeliac and diabetes 1 seem to go hand in hand.

Just had ds1 screened and although he's anaemic (goes with coeliac) there are no signs of coeliac - fingers crossed.
