Would you say this is muscle or lymphoedema

Hi,

Don’t know if I’m being silly.

picture attached hopefully - on the yellow part would you say it is muscle tightening maybe? It feels rock hard today. I must admit I have been in the swimming pool twice this week to keep sciatica at bay.

I have an up in the air diagnosis of lymphoedema and a existing wound on foot (which may also be an ulcer) leaked pus last week - the surgery took a swab and it came back no infection (touch wood) so I’d stopped wearing compression wrap just in case of infection.

I’ve tried asking before on online support groups for lymphoedema but got called cheap for not getting medical attention but promise I’ve had 2 appointments where I am just told there was worser cases out there (which I get)

Massive thanks

It is hard to say. I have lymphodema in my ankle and top of foot. It is never hard, more 'sqiggy' when pressed with a finger and leaves a dip in skin, lasting longer than if I repeated the process in normal skin .

Aha thank you, should get the wrap back on now antibiotics are finished, trying desperately to see dermatology but just been referred again to the lymphoedema clinic.

Thank you again x

You need to get the ulcer looked at and get compression back on asap.
Are the nurses changing the dressings? What are they using?

Blimey, really, oh lord that could explain how it split open to begin with last month, after 3 goodish months, I just thought it was ok as I have a waterproof dressing on and swim shoes, with it confirmed as no infection after the latest saga.

The diabetic foot are apparently still accessing if they can see me.

If you know about ulcers -
Is it common to end up with an ulcer after surgery? can they be sore, the only way I can describe it is like crushed glass shards

They can happen after surgery or even the slighest of cuts.

They can be very painful
Keep pushing to be seen amd stop swimming
