Breathing through your nose?

I breathe through my nose when at rest, but the least exertion, or particularly cold or warm air, and I just can’t get enough air through my nose, or it hurts my nose, and I switch to mouth breathing.

Is this normal?

If it's normal for you, it's normal.

For 30 years I thought coughing was normal. Until I was diagnosed with asthma.

Do you snore? My brother needed a minor op to fix something in his nose in his 20's. I don't know the details, but they thought it was a minor deformity from birth, not a fall or broken nose and his nose from the outside looked normal. He is 40's now and had never snored since it was corrected.

Freezing cold air can feel uncomfortable if I've walked outside, but otherwise no, my nose doesnt hurt from cold or warm air.

I only started snoring at all after having children, and I snore worse since menopause. But this nose-breathing business has been my normal as far as I can remember.

Absolutely normal. As long as you breathe through your nose when at rest, and crucially when you’re asleep, then all is well.

Our nostrils take turns in being in charge.
