Would you have keyhole bunion surgery?

Please help me decide what to do! I have a ‘moderate’ bunion on my left foot. I can go for weeks with minimal pain. At other times, it can throb and cause issues, especially if I’ve been on my feet all day. Obviously I have to be very careful about footwear, but even soft slippers can get uncomfortable after a while. The pain is never very severe, it never stops me from sleeping for example, or carrying on with my day. I do sometimes take painkillers although I don’t find them very effective.

Based on that, would you be getting surgery if you were me? It seems daft to live my life in regular low-level discomfort, but equally I’m scared of making things worse. If anyone has had keyhole bunion surgery I’d be grateful if you wouldn’t mind sharing your experiences. And also any recommendations for surgeons. I’m in the north but happy to travel to London or wherever. Would need to be Bupa verified. Thanks!

I think it depends if you’ve for good circulation, eg no diabetes, how fit and well you were, etc. following with interest as I’m at the early stages of considering it myself

I’m fit and well, aged 40. I do a lot of horse riding and Pilates, and I’m worried about what kind of effect surgery will have on my ability to do these things long-term. But on the other hand I’m finding it increasingly difficult to find riding boots that I can tolerate wearing!
