DD (10) was sent home from sch today at 9.10am, because she was sick. She was very sick at home, shortly after and then again at 9.40am. She has not been sick since, infact she has eaten me out of house and home. Eggs, yoghurt, crisps, a complete cooked evening meal And has been fine.

DD is supposed to be going to an arts and crafts club tomorrow at the school in the morning.

Do you think that if DD is ok tonight then she should be ok for tomorrow for the craft club? Or am I just infecting other DC unneccessararily(SP) and just forget it, and work with a very disappointed 10 yr old!

Please I would appreciate your opinions!

ask school what their policy is, whether it's 24 hours clear or 48 hours clear.

it is normally 24 hrs, I work there, so they would know I wouldnt deliberately send a sick child - like today! she did say she had a bit of a tummy ache but not much!

I would say she should definitely stay at home - there are bound to be several other mums at the school who are emotophobes who would be very grateful that you did.

IIRC current recommendation is 48hrs symptom free before returning to workplace or school. My nursery has amended their policy accordingly but I think other places have stuck with the 24hrs because parents don't like to (or can't) take 2 days off work every time their chid has a tummy bug

katiekkrruunncchh · 13/06/2008 22:42

To be honest I relly do not think its a bug, because of what she has eaten since. IYKWIM.

I appreciate what people think, and that is why I asked the question.

I work, so does DH, so I am well aware of what parents feel, but, I guess, I was feeling that if I thought that it wasn't a bug would people believe me!

that should say "really" and not relly!
