MRI bad reaction

Anyone else had a bad reaction to an MRI? I had one of my neck/upper back yesterday and it left me too dizzy to stand up for the next 24 hours, as well as vomiting for the first hour. Google says that this sometimes can happen but 'symptoms soon pass', which mine didn't.

Did you have a dye contrast? I can’t see how without you would get symptoms.

This, what is the reason for the mri?

No dye contrast.
Ironically, the reason for the MRI was dizziness! They think it's coming from my neck. This probably proves it, but I wondered if it was a common reaction anyway.

it's well described and is usually short lived...(one of the mechanisms is the effect of the magnet on the vestibular system). Glad it's passed.

It took 24 hours though, I had to lie down for the best part of a day.

Interesting, I didn’t know that. I’ve had loads but obviously that isn’t indicative of anything.

if you were having the scan because of neck problems lying in an slightly odd position for a while might have irritated your neck to and that could conceivably create some mismatch in signals from your neck as well as what the magnet does to your ear.

we routinely have to give people anti-emetics for MRIs under GA (it's the scan rather than the GA that's the problem).

Thanks that sounds likely. They tried to make my neck comfortable but it started to hurt a few minutes in.
