Anyone have any experience of wearing hearing aids with glasses in their 30s??

Recently been diagnosed with mild/moderate hearing loss (had problems for years, just adapted and managed!).
I have my hearing aid appointment in 2 weeks.
I work as a nurse and use stethoscopes a lot so I’m unsure how this will work.
I struggle with people ‘mumbling’, missing the ends of sentences, people on the phone when there is background noise etc but can hear perfectly fine with a stethoscope. My hearing loss is due to genetics and my mam has similar problems but didn’t really get seen until she was in her 50s.

I wear glasses as well so wondering the comfort with having both of those on my ears.
Also feeling self conscious about wearing hearing aids.
Husband is supportive and says he isn’t bothered etc. it’s just a change/adaption!
Anyone have any advice/experience it would be greatly appreciated?

I don’t have experience of this (yet, but similarly genetics make me think it’s coming) but I did see a VisionExpress poster for some glasses/hearing aids in one which looked pretty smart…

Yes I do. I wear glasses and hearing aids. I have small and discreet ones, which helps. I dont use a stethoscope but i do wear headphones a lot for meetings. I felt it was worth paying for top notch when I still have 25 years of .y working life left.
They make a huge difference and I have not looked back.

Can I help with anything more specific?

I will say though, when you have lived with hearing loss, be prepared for how loud the world is when you have hearing corrected to normal, it takes some getting used to. I sometimes wonder how people with full hearing aren't on the edge of a nervous breakdown all the time by the volume of things 😹

I'm not in my 30s but I wear hearing aids and glasses.
Hearing aids have come on a lot in recent years. Mine are so discreet you can hardly see them, they have Bluetooth which connects directly to my phone and they have an app with settings for different environments. I went to a very noisy restaurant last night. Last time I was there it was quite distressing because I couldn't hear any of the conversation around the table. This time I adjusted the settings on my aids and could hear just fine.
Glasses I find those with lighter arms are more comfortable.
My hearing aids are NHS. I highly recommend you try the NHS route first before spending £1000s.

Also to add I can connect to my laptop for teams meetings.

Thank you,
it’s more the practicality as sometimes glasses irritate my ears and I have a couple of days with contact lenses, but having to wear both glasses and hearing aids at the same time I was wondering how people have found them.
The past month at work we’re having to wear face masks and I’ve been struggling to understand some people due to this. Also having the straps on my ears with my glasses have been irritating.

It’s also advice regarding adjusting to it. As I’ve always used subtitles on the TV as I struggle with certain accents etc being in different environments and finding them overwhelming.

They said it’s important for my cognition to wear them all of the time as hearing loss can affect that. That it will also benefit me socially.
For years your just adapt, at uni I used to get the print outs of presentations with notes and my note I made and see if I could get a recording. Thinking nothing of it and that was my way to learn….when really it’s probably the hearing loss that has hindered me.
Im going to speak to someone at work regarding what I need/might need to do regarding equipment etc.

I still use subtitles even with aids, actually my adult DC always use them with bat hearing.
Masks, aids and specs are a nightmare. The best solution I found was a mask with elastic round the back of the head so no extra burden on the ears.
