NHS dentist - will I have to pay again?

End of November I had a couple of fillings done by my NHS dentist, paying band two £75.

Cut to just now, eating some crisps when there’s a crunch. A small piece of my tooth, or possibly filling has broken off. I now have a small hole in the side of one of my back teeth, not painful luckily.

Does anyone know if I will have to pay again to get it filled? Really can’t afford another £75 right now 😭

Might be better paying yourself as i can imagine there will be a very long wait on nhs.

Not at mine, last few times I’ve been I always get seen within the same week.

My dentist doesn't charge again if a filling fails within a certain amount of time. I suppose it depends if yours also has that policy

I think if it is one of the teeth previously filled you wont have to pay as work should be covered for 12 months. If different teeth you probably will as i think new issues occurring within a month aftervprevious work are covered but you are probably outside that time.

The 12 months cover is part of the nhs contract...some dentists need reminding of this in my experience.

Thanks for the replies. I’m just panicking he will say it’s not the filling because it’s the side of the tooth that’s broken and I don’t know if the filling was only the top. Though it kind of looks like there’s some white filling still left near the hole but I’m not 100% sure.
Getting myself in a flap now, really don’t have the budget this month for this if he makes me pay and I really hate going to the dentist.

My nhs dentist would not charge you for this so hopefully yours will be the same.

According to google further work on other teeth is covered for 2 month’s since last appointment if within the same treatment band, I’m just not sure how true this is.

That’s good to hear, fingers crossed.
