Hi just wondering how people have had these communicated? I had a shoulder fluoroscopy and MRI 5 weeks ago.

Didn't want to call to follow up if this is the norm timescale wise. They haven’t booked me an appointment with the orthopaedic consultant so 🤷‍♀️

I guess this time of year everything takes longer

I'd call them. They never let me know that my brain MRI was normal.

Call your GP. Usually the results are sent to them and appear on the NHS app too. The doctor can then schedule an appointment (I had a telephonic one) to explain the results and next steps.

They never let me know that my brain MRI was not normal. I assumed that no news was good news. it was only a random doctor (who I was seeing for something else) saw my results on the NHS electronic records who told me to follow up the results - 8 months later, I was told of the significant abnormalities found. Yes, 8 months, not 8 weeks. It was shocking, both the results themselves and the fact that I had slipped through the net. So, my advice, is always follow up yourself.

It took 9 weeks for my last MRI to be reported on.

A couple of years ago I had one on my head and they thought they saw something abnormal. I got a phone call 2 days later saying “we don’t want to panic you but…” fortunately they repeated it and it was fine.

That's awful. I assumed the same with mine and luckily it was normal - but again only found out via a rheumatologist for something else. I hope you're ok x

They had a sign up when I had an MRI last week saying reports were taking 6-8 weeks. Bearing that in mind I will ring up if I haven't heard in six weeks. I would never not follow up after past experience.

I’ll call in a couple of weeks if no news. I did look on the app and it’s not showing yet.

Thanks everyone

I checked and they had the report in December 🙈 They are booking me in (won’t share the results until appointment) but due to them being behind have to wait until March. They said on the phone it’s reassuring as if it was serious would be me sooner.
