I feel nauseous every day

For about six months now, I’ve felt nauseous every day. I’ve had blood tests, tried pro-biotics, but with no results. Any ideas anyone?

Histamine? Have a looks at the symptoms . Particularly if you are of perimenopause age

Bushwoolie · 30/12/2025 18:34

I have had chronic nausea for many many years. GP never found a cause. I just have antiemetics on repeat prescription now.

HappyTalkingAndLaughing · 30/12/2025 18:39

Have you had a helicobacter pylori test?

Silvercoconut · 30/12/2025 18:43

I have CONSTANT nausea. I even occasionally vomit 😓 just nothing.....my GP has prescribed Valoid, they work fast.

JennyForeigner · 30/12/2025 19:10

Left field but I feel nauseous when I have low blood sugar. I make an effort to eat a proper meal as soon as possible after waking up, or it lingers.

Horrorscope · 30/12/2025 19:12

Are you constipated? I find that can make me nauseous.

PlazaAthenee · 30/12/2025 19:13

I had this during the early stages of menopause. I used to go to bed with a sick bowl as I was sure I'd throw up.

catlovingdoctor · 30/12/2025 19:16

Have you had any stomach investigations like endoscopy?
Camomile tea works well for me when I get it. You have my sympathies.

Justwrong68 · 30/12/2025 21:33

I haven’t been checked for helicobacter or histamine, I’ll look into it. I’ve been checked for diabetes. I eat porridge everyday and am mostly not constipated. I have remedies like fennel tea but would rather see a doctor with a holistic approach but don’t know where to start.

I have had an endoscopy and barium swallow. With no results, I’m starting to think it’s hypersensitivity.

But your gp isn’t curious about the cause?

I had constant nausea for about 18 months. Had all the tests and oscopies and no cause was found. In the end, it cleared up when I was taking a course of amitriptyline for another reason. It took a few months of the amitriptyline to settle, but my nausea symptoms improved each time I increased my dose and worsened if I reduced it. In the end it just settled down and I stopped the amitriptyline. That was about a year ago and it hasn’t returned.

That’s good to know!
thanks everyone

Well I do take some pain medications regularly, but we haven't been able to pin point the cause as yet, as I still have it when I'm not taking them.
I've had every test imaginable, at the moment I just have to tolerate it😭

You poor thing. Have you had the tests mentioned above? Histamine and helicopter pylon?

I had low level nausea for months, maybe year. It disappeared when I had uterine polyps (that were causing a little bleeding) removed . It felt really amazing once the nausea stopped. I had got so used to it. It wasn’t bad at all but it was there. Especially when I woke

Runningoutofpatiencefucksandmoney · 31/12/2025 05:20

I was the same, but regularly gagged with it as well. It was awful. I take a ginger supplement every day now, and it's mostly gone

Bobbie12345678 · 31/12/2025 06:19

Do you smoke marijuana? It can seem to help nausea in the short term, but actually be the cause longer term.

SENSummer · 31/12/2025 06:29

I had this!
I got HG in pregnancy with both my 5yo and 4yo, seemed to clear up once I gave birth then returned as soon as I stopped breast feeding. Years of constant nausea followed. All the tests were negative including endoscopy. My BMI plummeted to 16 and I wasted away. Weirdly anti acids (prescribed) helped a bit and forcing myself to eat small amounts of plain foods.

I’ve realised it’s very very hormone dependent and I still get it for several days during ovulation and just before my period starts. It’s horrid. Have managed to stabilise it somewhat the rest of the time though. I would second what others are saying about hormones.

I have permanent nausea also. Have some for some months. Early 60’s. Wakes me up in the night. Really need to get mine checked out.

If it's histamines, you could try taking an antihistamine such as fenofexadine. You can buy that over the counter:

Another common cause of nausea is heartburn which I've heard fenofexadine can also help with.

I have a histamine issue (but not with nausea) and take 2 x 120mg of fenofexadine a day.

Loveduppenguin · 31/12/2025 06:55

I had this and it was coeliac disease.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 31/12/2025 08:03

Have an eye test.

Melsy88 · 31/12/2025 08:06

I had constant nausea and have been diagnosed with MCAS. Definitely worth trying high dose antihistamines for a few days
