I’m in tears in the bath. GP sent me to an and e. A and e GP has got me a consultant appointment for a few days time but the pain is blood horrible. Luckily I’ve got some codeine from a bad back earlier in the year but it’s not touching it. I think food flared it. Half a bloody sandwich earlier and it wasn’t even a very nice sandwich. Amy tips / magic or just healing thoughts for me ? It’s so horrible. Only just got diagnosed November after going with suspected reflux pain and finding my liver was out of whack. I haven’t drunk much this Christmas at all. Always the way. Too busy hosting to actually relax. I did however eat califlower cheese which seems to have set me off. I just can’t get comfy. Please help. Silly stories, anecdotes , anything. Talk me away from this pain. Please

Mine is coming out 10th April 💃. I have been lucky in terms of the pain. Not huge attacks at all just grumbling and has mostly been handled by just eating egg whites vegetables turkey and fruit. I now have other food problems so won’t be able to change my diet a lot. But will be nice hopefully to add back in soup egg yolks and milk.

I’ve just had to take more pain relief. Not sure really why I was holding off.

Awww I think bcos they whisk you in then whip it out & it’s keyhole, it minimises that it’s still major surgery. And you’re so focussed on relieving the hellish gallbladder pain that it can hit you I think that you’ve actually just been through something. That low feeling could well be the anaesthetic wearing off too. It’s no wonder dogs whimper & cry when they come round from anaesthetic (if you’re not a dog person that will mean nothing sorry!) Howling in sympathy for you (if you are!) I felt v discombobulated in the days after & couldn’t work out why. But writing this now it’s no wonder. It’s strong stuff working its way out. Hang tight it will pass x

@Otterdrunki am a dog person and he’s with me right now cuddling. I feel worse now than day one. Not getting looked after how I’d hoped either. DH likes being left alone whereas I’d like a check in more often but DS2 is making me peppermint tea and have had some toast. Might just hope for sleep again ! Was nice to be taken away from it today by endless snoozing. You’re right. It’s major surgery still. Not like a heart bypass but more than a splinter removal ! Lady opposite me was really struggling. Wish I’d got her number to check if she’s ok

I also thought recovery would be fine, I was a bit worried when I left hospital and looked at the medication given, I had Codeine, morphine, Laxido and anti sickness tablets. Luckily I didn’t need the strong painkillers, but regularly took paracetamol and Ibuprofen, I also slept on and off for for 3/4 days. In fact it was my DH who told me to go to bed after trying to stay up and awake. I was told I could drive when I felt ok, but I didn’t for 2 weeks, even then I stayed local. My DH has had a triple heart bypass, so yes, it doesn’t compare, but it’s still a painful recovery and I suppose the inflammation takes a while to go down. I had a follow up appointment 4 weeks later when consultant showed me photos of my gallbladder, not that I knew what a healthy one looked like, but apparently it was in a pretty bad state. Hopefully, you will begin to feel better soon.

I felt the most rubbish on day 2/3/4 and then it got a little better every day after that. By day 5/6 I realised I was managing with just paracetamol. Drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest.

I didn't feel OK to drive until about day 10

I went back to work on day 14 and was absolutely fine.

@Clartzilla@Lennonjinglesthank you. Been feeling a bit pathetic and lonely today. Managed on paracetamol this afternoon but am sore again now and a banging headache again
