Immunisations

Please forgive my utter ignorance but can someone please explain about immunisations or provide a good link that says when they ought to be done, side effects, risks, etc and also if it is possible for the MMR to be given in individual doses over a space of time.

I am particularly interested in finding out about the whooping cough vaccine so any info would be really helpful.

I have to go and do some things just now but will check this thread in a little while.

This the one It gives all the timmings for all the vaccines as per schedule.

The whooping cough vaccine is given at 2, 3 and 4 months combined with tetanus, diptheria polio and Hib these cannot be given seperately.

MMR can be given seperately over any amount of time but not on the NHS only privately. HTH

Many thanks persil. Both my children have whooping cough and it is a terrifying thing to see them so poorly. I had no idea that you could immunise AFTER they caught it as it is a bacterial disease and they could get it again.
I've bookmarked your link so DH and I can read it tonight.
