How does this burn look?

I stupidly dropped boiling water on my foot the other day. It has a large blister and is red but no other concerns. Does this look like it needs checking out by a medical professional or shall I just keep it covered and monitored. Any advice much appreciated.

Was the red area below the blister there from the start? Or has it developed since then? If the red area is spreading it may be a sign of infection . Maybe you could ask the practice nurse at your health centre to check it over tomorrow to put your mind at rest.

It was there but has started to get itchy- thought this may be a sign of healing? Thanks for your advice/ I’ll pop to the pharmacy first thing as see what they say.

Good idea to drop in and show the pharmacist. They might prescribe some cream to sooth the itch and will advise if you need to see anyone else.

Its great it hasn't burst but I would show it to the GP. It just not worth taking the risk of infection

Goodness me, you need to get that checked out asap. I’d go to a walk in centre. It’s tood
big for a pharmacist to deal with.

If you go to urgent care they will take the roof off the blister to assess how deep the underlying burn is. We would then dress it until it has healed

That's definitely worth showing a pharmacist and then do whatever they advise
